Mountain biking in the Kitzbühel Alps

A special feature of the Brixental Valley are the unspoilt side valleys, which are ideal for easy cycle tours with normal bikes. Along the mountain streams, the paths, which are always lined with shady pastures, lead steadily and gently uphill to the end of the valley, from where there is a steep ascent.

There are refreshment stops at the head of the valley. These tours are also highly recommended for families with children, as the streams at the back of the valleys offer plenty of opportunities for adventure and discovery.

The network of cycle paths is almost endless. You can cycle all the way to Salzburg. One of these wonderful tours takes us from Brixen im Thale via Kirchberg to Kitzbühel and along the Römerweg to St. Johann.

From there you have the option of cycling around the Hohe Salve via Going, Ellmau, Scheffau, Itter and via Hopfgarten back to the Brixental valley or on to the idyllic Pillersee or all the way to Salzburg. If you just want to get up there quickly and conquer the mountains downhill, you can take the cable cars to the summits.

The local sports shops offer hire and service for bikers.
